Built by hand. Hosted with heart.
Enchanted Getaways is not a rental company. It is one family's collection of handcrafted homes in the Pacific Northwest.
Bill Lund & the Lund family
Bill is a builder, curator, and storyteller — not a property manager. Every home in this collection is chosen or built with intention: to give guests access to places and experiences that money can buy, but time is hard to find. When you write to us, it's the family who answers, usually within the hour.
The fire, 2020
The Beachie Creek fire swept the Santiam Canyon and crossed this property. Where others saw loss, Bill saw material — timber and rock worth saving.
The build, 2020–2026
Over the following years the River Lodge rose from what was salvaged: a custom log home, raised by hand and finished in 2026, with the hot tub and hot stone sauna set at the water's edge.
The welcome, today
Built by Bill Lund. Hosted by the Lund family, with Lisa and Alisia helping guests directly. A small portfolio means personal attention — you are a guest, never one of thousands.
What's next
The Lake, Ocean, and Ranch properties are coming — each chosen or built for its setting, with details that reflect the land around it. Join the list to hear first.
Why I build this way
When the fire came through in 2020, a lot of people in this canyon lost a lot. I did too. But standing on this land afterward, I kept seeing timber and stone that still had good years left in it — and I couldn't bring myself to haul it off and start over with something ordinary.
So we built slow. We built by hand. Every beam in the River Lodge came from here, and it shows — there's a grain and a weight to this place you can't buy off a shelf. When guests tell me it feels different from the last cabin they rented, that's why. It is different. It's made of where it stands.
I host the way I'd want to be hosted: directly, honestly, and close enough to answer when you need something. That's the whole idea behind Enchanted Getaways. Not a brand — a handful of places we care about, opened up to the people who'll care about them too.
